Metiri Group continues to stake out a strong position around addressing the PFAS challenges in water and soil, by investing in PFAS testing accreditations and certifications, capabilities, capacity, training and resources.
The addition of Method 1633 - for water and soil - to our DoD scope of accreditation demonstrates the continuing commitment of Metiri Group to quality analytical services.
The EPA Draft Method 1633 standardizes measurement techniques for analytical laboratories for the determination of per- and polyfluoroalkul substances (PFAS). Method 1633 was designed specifically to deal with the difficult challenges faced in testing for PFAS. Adherence to these methods ensures accurate collection, transport, and testing procedures that will produce consistent and accurate results.
As defined by EPA, PFAS are widely used long-lasting chemical components which break down very slowly over time.
Current health concerns that may be related to exposure to PFAS chemicals have been identified by EPA.
